Four Types of Grinding Stick

Grinding Stick Overview

Testing confirmed the 400/600 grit stick excels at rough grinding, while the 800/1000 grit delivers optimal results for fine polishing.

Grit Comparison

#7 Blade - Precision Grinding Stick

  • #400/#600 Grit: For grinding hard objects
  • Materials: Coins, metal, shells, ceramics, jade, acrylic, plaster, PCBs, resin, ABS
  • Note: Avoid heavy pressure on ABS/PLA to prevent over-grinding

#8 Blade - Precision Polishing Stick

  • #800/#1000 Grit: For polishing hard objects
  • Materials: Coins, metal, shells, ceramics, jade, acrylic, plaster, PCBs, resin, ABS

How to Master Ultrasonic Polishing

Ultrasonic Polishing
  • First-time users: Practice on rusty pliers first; master small rust removal before formal use.
  • Experienced users: Test on material samples first to avoid main workpiece issues.
  • Hard materials (e.g., metal): Use forward-push method.
  • Soft materials (e.g., ABS): Use backward-pull method; avoid heavy pressure.
  • Pet safety: Keep 40kHz tool ≥5m from cats (frequency may agitate them).

Polishing Guides by Material

Wooden Materials

Wood Polishing

Hold the cutter like a pen, push the stick gently forward. Apply light pressure if needed (avoid heavy pressure to prevent damage).

PCB Materials

PCB Polishing
  • Keep hand steady, apply light pressure, move stick back and forth quickly.
  • Move to new area when metal parts are exposed; repeat.
  • Clean/shaping by pulling stick backward after grinding.

Conch Materials

Conch Polishing
  • Pre-fill brittle conch with play sand (removable) to reinforce structure.
  • Avoid heavy pressure—vibrations may crack the conch.

Coin Materials

Coin Polishing
  • Secure coins with a fixture (same method as PCB polishing).
  • Do NOT hold by hand—coins heat up fast; slipping may cause injury.

ABS/PLA Materials

ABS/PLA Polishing
  • Limit stick-material contact time (40kHz vibration causes heat/melting).
  • Apply only light pressure—avoid downward force to prevent deformation/scorching.
